Description:

Led the development of an advanced real-time transcription feature called "Smart Live Text" for use with Slid's note-taking product. The feature enables users to easily take notes while watching videos in our Chrome extension, with a 85% accuracy rate.

Project Duration:

November 2022– December 2022

Programming Commitment:

Full-time (4 hours coding, 2 hours maintenance, 2 hours testing per day, Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researched and developed a solution for real-time transcription of audio from video to text using JavaScript, Chrome extension, Node.js, and Google Cloud’s speech to text API.
  • Built and demoed a prototype to the project manager, achieving an 84% accuracy rate in initial testing.
  • Implemented the transcription tool and deployed it to production using AWS EC2 servers with a load balancer, achieving seamless integration with Slid's note-taking product.
  • Conducted extensive testing and debugging to ensure the tool was accurate and reliable.
  • Worked with the project manager to establish project timelines and deliverables, consistently meeting all deadlines and exceeding expectations.
  • Led the development team to successfully integrate the transcription tool with the Slid platform.
  • Participated in user testing and gathered feedback to inform future iterations of the tool, resulting in a satisfaction rate of 95% among surveyed users.
  • Contributed to comprehensive documentation and provided technical support for the tool as needed.
  • Utilized tools such as Visual Studio Code, Git, GitHub, Sentry, Notion, and Slack to manage the project and collaborate with team members.
